This is Amanda, the yoga instructor at Small Hope Bay. After the Dana dive, I joined a yoga class taking place at the hot tub. The weather was sunny every day we were there, but about a half hour after returning from the dive, the sky darkened. The yoga instructor had the class lay on their backs with our palms up and eyes closed. There was a gentle drizzle falling on us which I found to be very refreshing and relaxing.
A good friend, Dana Maxwell, recently passed away. He requested that his ashes be taken to the Bahamas and Ernie & I helped fullfill his wishes. Last week we went to Small Hope Bay on Andros Island and took his remains on a dive. Dana would scuba dive at Andros about 2-3 times a year. Last Monday we accompanied his remains on a dive to the Tongue of the Ocean. A memorial plaque was placed at Dana's Delight which is 160' down. The ashes were in a biodegradable box and was weighted down and dropped over the reef which goes down 6000'. Thank you Jeff and Mike from Small Hope Bay Lodge for all you did to commerate Dana's life...you will always be a big part of it. Here are some of the photographs from the day.
